Hello, today I finished the sphinx!  Well almost... I still can't tell you one part, but you'll see it tomorrow.  Anyway I added a lot more scaffolding so it looked better, and I put the nose on a carrying bed.  Like the ones the egyptians used  where they rolled logs under the bricks to move them to their resting spot.

I thought I was done until I remembered the video on how they build the pyramids and I thought "I could use a shutoff too!  So I built one to and now the shutoff is getting ready to pick up the nose.  I also wrote the paper for the project.

Sorry this blog was so short.  I didn't have a lot of time!

A Sphinx Joke

Hello, today my sister was felling extra helpful, so we began to work on it.

I decided to make the sphinx being built so it has no head.  I thought it would be a funny twist to put the nose somewhere not attached to the sphinx yet.

The sphinx is a mythical creature that had a lot of riddles that the people who wanted to enter had to answer like:  What has a mouth, but never talks, what can run, but never walk, what has a bed, but does not sleep?
(The answer will be in the next blog.)  Well, what happens i you don't get it correct?  Then you get eaten by the sphinx, that sounds like a painful way to die.

First when building are Sphinx we covered are hole box with duck tape (I don't what to tell you why yet.)
Then we made the Sphinx's front half out of clay (10 lb's of clay!)  I also made the nose separate.  then we began to make scaffolding, but then I had to leave for basketball and I could finish so that is where I left it at for today.

Me and my mom put a whent towel over the sphinx, and rapped it in a garbage bag so the clay could stay wet so we could put more scaffolding on.

I can't wait for the next time I could work on it.

Bye!!!

Egyptian Diorama day one.

Dear fellow classmates,

I have finally been able to post this!  For my project I have decided to do the sphinx, but without a head because it is being built.  Here are some materials I got from the store.

1. Sky blue duck tape (For Background)
2. Creativity sticks (For walk ways)
3. Clay (for sphinx)
4. Sand (for the desert)
5. Glue (to hold stuff together)
6. Box (to hold everything)

I believe that is it but if I remember anything I will post it in a blog.

Bye!!!
